Odense ZOO

Do you love animals? Then Odense ZOO is the place to be. It is in HC Andersen’s City which is close to the Odense City Center. The address of the ZOO is Sdr. Boulevard 306 5000 Odense C. The Odense ZOO has great experiences for both the old and the young.

The Odense ZOO is in Odense City. The city is well known for its cycling culture, modern harbor, and fairytale castle. It is the also in the center of Funen. Odense is named after Odin, the Norse God of war and death. Therefore, it is a nice place to visit because apart from the ZOO, it has over 250 playgrounds and 120 parks.

Tickets and Prices

For the general entrance ticket, an adult pays DKK 195 while a child between 3 to 11 years pays DKK 100. On the other hand, the students with valid student cards pay DKK 165. Apart from the entrance ticket, at the ZOOven, you can get the annual card. For an adult, child (3 to 11 years), and senior (65+) the ticket costs DKK 495 DKK 300, and DKK 425. The annual tickets are valid for 365 days. Odense ZOO is also group friendly. In a group of over 20 people, you will get discounted prices including DKK 165.5 for adults and DKK 85 for kids.

Opening Hours

Odense ZOO is open all year round. From 8th August to 14th October, it is open from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 to 17.00. On the weekends, it is open from 9.00 to 18.00. During the autumn holiday, the ZOO is open every day from 9.00 to 18.00.

During Autumn/Winter which is between 14th October to 17th November, the ZOO is open all day. It functions from 9.00 to 16.00. Besides, on 18th November it is open from 9.00 to 20.00 as it opens ‘Christmas in the ZOO’. From 19th November to 14th November, on Monday to Wednesday it opens from 9.00 to 16.00. However, from Thursday to Sunday, it is open from 9.00 to 20.00.

From 15th December to 23rd December, the Odense ZOO opens every day from 9.00 to 20.00. On 24th November, it opens from 9.00 to 14.00. Moreover, from 25th to 30th December, it is open all days from 9.00 to 16.00. Lastly, on 31st December, it opens from Saturday from 9.00 to 14.00.

Animals at the ZOO

Odense ZOO has all kinds of animals. It has large, dangerous, smaller, and even soft animals. While at the ZOO you will experience a different and unique atmosphere. Some of the animals that you will meet at the ZOO include wild zebras, giraffes, turtles, and sea lions. The place also has birds including yellow-billed hokku, hammerhead, hyacinth macaw, nandu, and common ostrich.

Disability Friendly

The Odense ZOO has wheelchair-friendly paths in most places. Also, there are disabled toilets. In case you are not planning to come with your wheelchair to the ZOO, then you can borrow one. However, you have to do it in advance.
